In search of a quieter life, we – Robin and Laura – decided in 2016 to leave Belgium behind and make our dream come true in the Aragonese countryside. It didn’t take long before we fell in love with an old farmhouse in the small village of Fuentespalda. At first glance it looked like a dilapidated masía, but buried under those brambles was a treasure hidden. We were convinced that it would take a lot of work to breathe new life into this ruin.
The final move took place in the summer of 2016. Our plan? First of all, put the residential units in order, the outside would follow later. And no sooner said than done. While we lived in the first apartment with basic amenities, we started the works in another. Once that was done, we moved into the finished apartment and started on the next one. Four renovations, four moves and 2 years later we were able to receive the first guests. In the following years, most of the work was done on the outside. The facades, the terrace (a corona project), the playground, the swimming pool and finally the barbecue zone.
