A visit to Matarranya is not complete without a visit to what the Spanish themselves call “one of the most beautiful villages in Spain.” In addition to a stroll through the historic center and a visit to the castle, you can also enjoy fine dining in numerous restaurants and shopping in shops selling local products.
Valderrobres has a valuable architectural heritage that you can sense just by looking at the town due to its beauty.

The urban center is clearly divided into two parts: the old town (north of the Matarraña River) and the Arrabal del Puente (to the south). If the Arrabal del Puente area, where the vast majority of the population currently lives, lacks artistic interest, the same cannot be said of the historic center. The parish church of Santa María la Mayor was already declared a Historic Monument during the Second Spanish Republic. More recently, in 2004, the Church of Santa María la Mayor itself, the Town Hall, the Archbishop’s Castle, and the entire Historic Site were declared a Site of Cultural Interest by the Government of Aragon.
